Billboard Chart 'Good Performance' Despite K-pop Crisis Theory

BTS has been on the charts for 41 consecutive weeks
TWICE is in the top 15 for 2 weeks in a row

Despite the rising K-pop crisis, K-pop groups have been steadily performing well on the U.S. Billboard chart.

According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 28th (local time) (April 1st), BTS' anthology album Proof ranked 195th on the main album chart for 41 consecutive weeks.

K-pop's flagship girl group "TWICE" ranked 11th with its new album, "READY TO BE." Following last week, it was ranked in the top 15 of the 'Billboard 200' for two consecutive weeks.

The fifth mini-album "TEMPTATION" of the fourth-generation K-pop boy group TXT ranked 63rd on the "Billboard 200" chart for eight consecutive weeks. Except for BTS, TXT is the only K-pop boy group that ranked 100th on "Billboard 200" for eight consecutive weeks.

Two new K-pop teams have entered the Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100' this week. As previously announced, BTS member Jimin's first solo album "FACE," which was pre-released on the 17th, "Set Me Free Pt. 2" entered the 30th place on "Hot 100."

As a result, Jimin was listed on the second 'Hot 100' as a solo work and broke the top ranking. Earlier in January, Jimin ranked 76th in Hot 100 with VIBE, which collaborated with Taeyang, a member of the group Big Bang.

The title track "Cupid" of the first single "The Beginning: Cupid" of the new K-pop girl group FIFTY FIFTY ranked 100th in the "Hot 100." This is the first achievement in about four months since debuting with the first EP 'THE FIFTY' on November 18 last year. It became the fastest K-pop group to enter the chart since its debut, beating syndrome girl group NewJeans which entered "Hot 100" six months after its debut with "Ditto."

Apart from this, Jimin's 'Set Me Free Pt.2' ranked at the top of several charts, including 'Digital Song Sales' and 'World Digital Song Sales', 'Global (excluding the United States)' fifth, and 'Global 200' eighth, respectively.
